Our Story

My Aunt Jo had been making rugs for as long as I could remember. She and her husband, my Uncle Horace, were quite the team during retirement. Uncle Horace cut the fabric and Aunt Jo weaved the rugs. My parents had these rugs all around the house An Aunt Jo rug was the most desired of gifts and I was thrilled to have received one as a wedding gift. A Jo Snow rug was durable, long lasting and beautiful.

When Aunt Jo made the decision to no longer weave (at the age of 90) I was delighted to be able to purchase her loom and carry on this tradition. Loomies Rugs LLC was born out of a desire to have a creative outlet. I never expected it to grow into this lovely little business that brings me so much joy, that has connected me to so many wonderful people, so many of who have a rag rug story to share.

We don’t set out to make rugs for your fur kids. It just happens!

Your rug is made with designs that may surprise you! Not to mention…a whole lot of love!
